Tokyo Electron U.S. (TEL) Celebrates its New Headquarters in the Heart of Austin

On Wednesday April 16th, Tokyo Electron U.S. hosted a grand opening event at its new headquarters at TEL | RiverSouth on the corner of Barton Springs and South 1st Street, just south of the river.
Tony Kawai, Tokyo Electron (TEL) President & CEO traveled from Japan to cut the ribbon at the event, signaling a new era for the organization that has played a crucial part in the U.S. semiconductor and technology landscape for over three decades.

“With Tokyo Electron's pivotal role in the U.S. semiconductor industry, it is only fitting that our office is located in the dynamic center of Austin,” said Bobby Shirai, President of Tokyo Electron U.S. Holdings. “The U.S. has long been a hub for intellectual and research capital and serves as the beating heart of global technology. We are a partner and ally committed to America’s innovative tech future.”
The opening event welcomed many speakers from around Central Texas, including the Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson, the Consulate-General of Japan in Houston Zentaro Naganuma, Samsung Austin Semiconductor Vice President Jon Taylor, 소닉카지노 President & CEO Jeremy Martin, and President and Tokyo Electron America President Mark Dougherty.
Tokyo Electron U.S. manages 19 sites and employes nearly 3,400 people across the United States, with around 600 of those being based here in Austin. TEL leads the world in patents within the semiconductor production equipment industry, underscoring its commitment to innovation and excellence.
As the semiconductor is growing at a rapid pace, TEL U.S. is growing along with it, with the company expecting to hire around 10,000 people globally in the next 5 years. TEL U.S. has active partnerships with universities across the country, including the University of Texas, as well as military partners such as Fort Cavazos in Killeen. Prior to the opening of TEL | RiverSouth, TEL U.S. was a part of the Southeast Austin community on Grove Blvd. for over 25 years.
